Raheem Sterling scores in consecutive Premier League home matches for the first time in his career.

Like De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling can do no wrong right now, the England winger continuing his fine start to the campaign with a goal and an assist, as well as coming close to claiming what would have been a remarkable solo effort just after the hour.

But the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager maintained his flawless start to the season with another easy win.

That did little to dampen the spirits of Guardiola, however, who heralded another superb display from Belgium playmaker De Bruyne.

However, it was not all good news for City head coach Pep Guardiola, who saw recently bought Spain worldwide Nolito dismissed with just four minutes to go after a headbutt on Bournemouth defender Smith on the left-hand touchline.

The sending-off of Nolito in the closing moments, apparently for a head-butt, took some gloss off the celebrations but Guardiola was happy with the result, if not the performance.

“And Bournemouth were until now the best team with the ball (we have faced) – the other teams have played long balls”.

“I am lucky and we are lucky to have him”.

Everton moved up to second and stayed unbeaten with a 3-1 home success over Middlesbrough at Goodison Park.

The hosts trailed after keeper Maarten Stekelenburg parried the ball into his own goal under a heavy challenge from Alvaro Negredo in the 21st minute but were level three minutes later when Barry marked his milestone with a goal. Seamus Coleman and Romelu Lukaku also scored for Everton.

The win means City are top by five points ahead of Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool, with Manchester United facing Watford on Sunday in their bid to go three points behind.

Arsenal’s season has yet to fully ignite but they made light work of a Hull side who had Jake Livermore sent off for handball in the first half.

“I feel overall it was a positive performance after playing away in the Champions League and away again today”, said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, whose side drew 1-1 at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The Blues’ star striker Sergio Aguero will be available for the next league game but Guardiola has a problem of plenty on his hands, as City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has filled Aguero’s space quite well.

“We have a lot of great characters in the dressing room. We need the whole squad to compete in all the competitions”, he added, as City prepare for four successive away matches.

Islam Slimani scored twice on his debut as champions Leicester picked up where they left off in the Champions League in midweek, clinching their second league win of the season with a 3-0 win over Burnley.

On 78 minutes, Burnley defender Ben Mee diverted a cross from Mahrez into his own net.

On the eve of the game, Guardiola warned City skipper Kompany he wouldn’t walk straight back into the team when fit.

He scored a pair of headers either side of half-time, nodding in a Christian Fuchs free-kick in first-half injury time and then heading home from strike partner Jamie Vardy’s flick. So it was a relief to come back and not suffer a European hangover.
