Guardiola’s team travel to Stoke City for their second league game of the season on Saturday.

His meteoric rise continued with a Premier League debut against Watford in August 2015 and the next game saw Kelechi come off the bench to score a 90th minute victor against Crystal Palace.

Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho has committed his future to Manchester City by signing a new extension to his current deal.

Guardiola added that he was very impressed by Iheanacho upon his arrival at the club.

He told City’s official website: “I can’t express how I’m feeling!”

Pep Guardiola also expressed joy that the Nigerian chose to commit his future to the club; “Kelechi is a natural goal-scorer”.

“I like his personality, his attitude, his ability – we hope to help him reach the highest level and to realize his full potential”. He scored his first goal soon after, coming off the bench to score the last minute victor against Watford.
