Manchester City wait on news over Kevin De Bruyne injury

Llorente cancelled out Aguero’s ninth-minute opener and although Swansea have now gone four games without a league win, under-pressure boss Francesco Guidolin could take some satisfaction from seeing his side produce their best performance of a testing campaign. “Tonight, we are going to come back to Manchester; tomorrow, the doctor is going to see”, Guardiola was quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News on Saturday.

He said: ‘Congratulations to him for his first goal and for the personality for the penalty for his second.

The only setback for City was the sight of Kevin De Bruyne limping off in the second half. But Neil Taylor and Ki Sung-yeung, who both displayed public disapproval of Guidolin’s decisions to substitute them against Chelsea and Southampton respectively, were on bench duty.

“The whole squad, he just keeps giving us confidence”.

De Bruyne should have restored City’s lead with a third goal in as many league matches, but dragged wide when a clever flick from Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan’s first-time pass sent him clear of the Swansea defence.

“We arrived many, many times with [Kevin] De Bruyne, [David] Silva and [Ilkay] Gundogan but it was awesome that we were in that situation so often but didn’t make the final pass, but then we got the penalty and then a third goal so we were able to win”.

“But they have good players and the goal they scored was very good”, the Spaniard added.

“We played a very good game and for one hour we were at the same level as Manchester City and they are the best team in the United Kingdom”, he said.

“I’m so happy for this important victory because now we have two games before the [international] break”. At first I thought it was harsh, but if you but your elbow that high, in his face, you give the referee the opportunity to give the penalty. We are not in a good moment for results. I watched the television and I have my opinion, but this is not important.
