“We are going to sign one more player for sure”.
“I don’t like to speak about other players”, he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“Pogba is a great there are no doubts about that, but the numbers today are different [in terms of] the way the clubs buy the players”.
Asked if fans could expect Pogba to arrive in the coming days Mourinho said: “I am very pragmatic on this”.
“I think our market was good”, said Mourinho, adding he hopes United’s transfer business is concluded prior to their Premier League opener at Bournemouth on August 14.
Jose Mourinho expressed confidence on Friday that Manchester United will sign Paul Pogba in time for the Premier League season and criticised rival managers’ reactions to the mooted world-record transfer.
But I speak to Paul, and he’s all about football, not money.
The Portuguese replaced Louis van Gaal at United in late May but Bayern Munich had already completed a £27.5m deal with Benfica, the 18-year-old’s former club, despite the the 20-time English champions monitoring his situation for 12 months. I think especially for the players that were involved last season, for them it must have a meaning, because to play in the Community Shield you need to be champion or have won the FA Cup, and they won the FA Cup.
The starring role Sanches played for the eventual tournament winners also left many Manchester United supporters furious with the fact that their side had missed out on such a prodigious talent.
Sanches, 18, was strongly linked with interest from Old Trafford for much of last season and a move for the Portugal worldwide looked to be nailed on. We made decisions, decide to bring four players not 10, that are Man Unted level.
