A number of Europe’s elite clubs are understood to be interested in snapping up the former AC Milan striker, including Manchester United.

“You wonder if maybe they should take a chance on somebody like Ibrahimovic for a year, someone in the van Persie mould”.

“I don’t think I would be [satisfied]”, said Scholes, as quoted by the Mirror. He’s a nice guy, still very young with a lot of potential but he’s well developed in his career for his age.

“I don’t think they need much else”.

The Reds legend watched the game as a BT Sport pundit as United toiled in attack to make it just two goals from their opening three games this term and feels neighbours Manchester City boast greater firepower in their ranks.

Newcastle ended their 41-year wait for a win at Old Trafford with victory at the Theatre of Dreams in 2103.
