Manchester United’s Champions League hopes are hanging in the balance after a frustrating 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have scored just five times in their last seven games in all competitions, which has resulted in four goalless draws and three victories.
Manchester United has been unable to score goals but somehow they are getting the desired results and are now second in the league. “I thought we were unlucky not to go into the break 1-0 up”, he said.
A win over CSKA Moscow last time out means that United go into the contest sitting top of Group B and with the chance to clinch a place in the last 16 with a game to spare.
With so many injuries, Louis van Gaal made a decision to include development squad players Regan Poole, Guillermo Varela, James Weir and Nick Powell in first team training. We can win everywhere. With Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera out injured, plus Juan Mata only given six minutes at the end, the main reason United failed to win this game was the lack of drive in midfield and the fact that the entire team simply seemed to run out of steam. But you can not do it always.
“Of course I am anxious, but I also know that goals are coming and going”, admitted Van Gaal.
He has since won three Federation Internationale de Football Association World Player of the year in addition to breaking legend Raul’s goal record of 323 goals at Real Madrid. “It depends on the shape of the evening and the moment, and also the opponent and how they play and defend”, he said.
“I think the first half was a reasonable performance”, van Gaal said.
“In the first half it was average and in the second half in spite of my changes it did not improve”.
“Nevertheless, we only gave one chance away in the second half”.
“We’ve only got ourselves to blame, but we can do it in Wolfsburg”.
“We are still second so we are still in the qualifying position I believe”. But it is more hard.

His message was at least appreciated by one member of the Old Trafford faithful, who replied: “If it wasn’t for you the majority of the time we’d be gone to s***”.
