The midfielder was included in the Manchester United starting lineup for both competitive games under Jose Mourinho. The defensive midfielder made 6 important tackles, 3 clearances and maintained an astounding 98.7% passing accuracy, highest among the Manchester United starters.
‘He needs stability and a mnager who is going to stay with him, play him in a single position and I think that’s what Mourinho is looking at even if he’s thrown a spanner in the works by saying he will play further forward’.
Fellaini himself spoke to MUTV afterwards, and said that he was delighted with the victory and said that he is determined to prove to all that “United are back”.
“I found it was a good game, not easy, the first half was hard”. In the second half we kept the ball better and created more chances and more possibilities for ourselves. We took those chances and got the win which was good for us.
Fellaini reserved praised for this summer’s new signings at Old Trafford, especially Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly. The striker scored the victor against Leicester City and netted the last goal against Bournemouth while Bailly won the Man of the Match yesterday, based on the fans’ votes in Twitter.
Fellaini has not always been a fan-favourite since his move to United in 2013 from Everton, but he has had his moments and now, one can only hope that the Belgian can repay Mourinho’s faith in him, by delivering for the team week in week out.

The question of whether Ibrahimovic, 34, could still perform in the Premier League has been answered early on by two goals in his first two Manchester United games. He said that he was ” happy to start” the game and that he wants to “show his quality” and show his manager what he can do.
