Manchester United Legend Laments Quality Of Jose Mourinho’s Club
As a part of his damning assessment of the Premier League, Paul Scholes has said that he would rather watch Salford City than Manchester United.

Scholes went as far as to say that he prefers watching local side Salford City (the club at the heart of the above book) to viewing the richest league in the world.
Scholes said Spain’s LaLiga is “the best by far” when it comes to success in Europe, and praised the idea of fan ownership, with the large memberships of clubs in Spain wielding heavy influence. “I think the manager’s strengthened in good areas with top-quality players and I think the rest of the team are raising their standards to join them”. In Italy probably the strength in depth isn’t great. Andrei Kanchelskis, Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney are the players in question – Rooney being the only man still able to set a new benchmark. Seeing red The Manchester derby is always set to the backdrop of high tension, so it’s little wonder we’ve seen some dismissals down the years.
The Reading coach suggested that with the increase in quality in their side they have all the capabilities to come away with the Premier League crown.
“You hear about people saying English football’s the best football there is around”. They say it’s boring. The Manchester United legend has been a harsh critic of his old club during the last three seasons. But we have this interpretation of the Italian league that it’s rubbish, that they only try to defend.
“But I genuinely get more enjoyment from watching even my son’s team, Royton Town”.
“The best players are in Spain or at Bayern Munich and Juventus. All the best players are in other countries”, he continued.

“There needs to be a real step up in quality in England”, he wrote via The Guardian. He started playing a few games for them last season.
