Roy Keane has insisted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a “really, really good” player amid rumours that Manchester United are interested in signing the Swede.

Mario Gotze is poised to leave Bayern Munich and Liverpool and Arsenal are the two clubs desperate to sign him, according to a report in the Daily Express.

His age would usually be a concern as he is undoubtedly drawing to the end of his career, but his goalscoring output is still remarkable-he has netted 27 times in 25 Ligue 1 appearances this season, per WhoScored.com.

With free agency looming for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Premier league’s top clubs scramble to secure his signature for next season.

He’s fit and he still wants to play in a big European side. However, United are confident that their financial power can blow any offer that Arsenal may make out of the water.

“I think the thing that’s come through this year is you see the success of our academy system and the way it has worked and you see the young players coming through”.

There is no certainty that Varela’s semi-cryptic social media reaction backs Mourinho’s takeover of United, but recent reports have suggested that the Portuguese boss is poised to replace Louis Van Gaal this summer after a dismal season for the Red Devils.

George Bellshaw of Metro reported that Varela has probably dropped a huge hint over Twitter that the Uruguayan global is hoping for Mourinho to take over at Old Trafford. Signing a striker of Ibrahimovic’s calibre would certainly be a welcome addition to each of the clubs’ rosters.
