Claudio Ranieri savoured a gamble that paid rich dividends after Leicester City got their Premier League title challenge back on track by beating Norwich City.

Leaders Leicester ensured their spot at the top of the table after 27 games thanks to Leonardo Ulloa’s late victor against Norwich City on Saturday, the substitute sliding in to convert Marc Albrighton’s low cross in the 89th minute.

Leicester face the Baggies two points ahead of Tottenham in the league after Spurs’ 2-1 comeback victory over Swansea on Sunday with Arsenal five points behind after losing 3-2 at Manchester United.

“I said before the Arsenal match that Norwich would be more hard”. They are very good on the counter-attack with [Salomon] Rondon, [Stephane] Sessegnon and [Saido] Berahino, and they are also very unsafe on the corner.

Leicester forwards Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have scored more league goals than the entire Norwich team put together, with 33 to 30.

The tension was excruciating and, for possibly the first time this season, the magnitude of what Leicester could achieve appeared to dawn on the players.

Paul Merson says that manager Arsene Wenger must be sacked if Leicester City or Tottenham Hotspur win the Premier League this season.

Southampton’s run of form came to an end as they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at St. Mary’s.

With Leicester and Tottenham both grabbing all three points over the weekend, the Gunners needed a win at Manchester United to keep up with their title rivals.

“We expected a battle”.

“It was a shock playing midweek because [Anthony] Martial was supposed to be starting and coming in kind of benefited me because I wasn’t thinking about it, thinking about the game too much so it’s just been good”, Rashford said after his match-winning performance. It’s not important now whether we play well or not – it’s important we take points. We lost a match in the last second against Arsenal, and today we won in the last minute. “When you have the chance, you have to perform and do the things we’re asking and I’ve always said, it’s not a matter of age, it’s a matter of quality and he showed it”.

“The player who was surprising for me talent-wise was Rashford, the timing and intelligence of his movement was great”.

“People point to the players, but the manager has to get the players up for these games”.
