Manchester United’s ‘Player of the Game’ in the win against Swansea
Louis van Gaal expressed his satisfaction at Manchester United securing victory with “a very risky system” against Swansea.

The beleaguered Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal found some respite after the Red Devils managed to beat Swansea at home following a run of bad results, and some promises have reportedly been made to him by the club officials.
Van Gaal registered his first win over Swansea in four attempts, his three defeats to the Swans seeing him dub the Liberty outfit his ghost team in the build-up to this clash. “Unfortunately, he couldn’t score against Chelsea, but I think he will be very happy today”. We tried to control the game and score goals.
Rooney’s goal was his 188th in the Premier League, meaning he moved past Andy Cole, and only Alan Shearer, the 260-goal record holder, has scored more.
“We played last Saturday and Monday and we had to take Leon [Britton] and Angel [Rangel] out of the side at Palace to try to protect them for games down the line”.
“We have to be at the top of the league”.
Van Gaal’s judgement will be further questioned after it emerged on Friday night that Hernandez, who joined Bayer Leverkusen for £12million after spending the Dutchman’s first season in charge out on loan, has won the Bundesliga’s Player of the Month award for the second month running. “I hope that it is the fantastic starting point for the team, but also him”. It was a good start to the year and we can’t afford any more slip-ups now, so we need to make sure we keep playing like this.
They now sit in fifth place in the Premier League table with 33 points from 20 games.
The manager thought his players gave their all for him on Saturday. We always look to a gameplan that suits us more and also that the opponent doesn’t expect. We have to get points, otherwise the gap is too big and that is why we have to do what we have to do.
“All around the pitch, we had a lot of joy”. Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski also paid tribute to the quality of Rooney’s finish, which allowed the 30-year-old to end a 553-minute goal drought in all competitions. “In the second half we created fewer chances but we scored”.

“We knew we had to snap out of that run and get on the front foot and I think we did that”.
