Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have gotten off to an impressive start to the Premier League campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s appointment at the Theatre of Dreams has seen Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrive and many have questioned the 53-year-old’s lack of trust in young players.

“With Fellaini I always have the feeling that he was not loved by the general Red people”, Mourinho told MUTV. “He knows what he can be for them”, Mourinho explained.

The 34-year-old Swedish legend, who joined United on a free transfer this summer, virtually sealed the game with a debut goal for the Red Devils at the 64th minute, pushing the team’s lead to 3-0.

When asked about his thoughts on the game, the Portuguese did not go over the top with praises but certainly expressed his contentment and pleasure on his team’s performance.

“It’s always important to win your first game”, club captain Rooney added.

“To be honest before the match I was a little bit (nervous)”. For somebody with so many years in football, to have that feeling is normal.

“I will not be somewhere only because I am Ibrahimovic”. We found our game much more in the second half and scored a second and third one. Cyle Larin and Kaka scored in the first half for Orlando City, which settled for its league-high 12th tie and, at 5-6-12, has more ties than wins and losses combined. “Everything is new for me: my team-mates, the club, the environment, new stadiums but slowly I get settled in, play my game and help the team win”.

“I started bad with Inter Milan and Porto, with draws at home, and yet we won everything, so you never know”, he said. But the reality is that winning the Community Shield has brought some happiness, then we’ve had a win away from home.

The Telegraph reported that Mata, was a surprise starter and only in the side due to Jesse Lindgard’s injury, but that being said Mata will have shown Mourinho that his career at Old Trafford may not be as dead and buried as reported in The Mirror back in May. Playing for fifth or sixth is different to trying to win it.

“If it’s mathematically not possible one day, we’ll think about top four”.

Handed the No. 9 shirt worn last season by Anthony Martial, Ibrahimovic has displaced Rashford from the starting lineup and given United a different kind of presence up front to the pacey England worldwide.
