Manchester United want Schneiderlin deal done by Monday

Today, more on the future of Morgan Schneiderlin… Two weeks ago, Koeman rejected United’s offer of £20 million and said that, “Every player has his price and we have experience as a club of selling players”.

Schneiderlin has been one of the most talked about players of the transfer window so far after enjoying another excellent season at Southampton where he helped them secure a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League. Arsenal and Tottenham have also been previously linked with the player, with the Independent reporting Southampton are ready to sell, so they may be using other clubs’ interest to initiate a bidding war and increase the amount they can bring in from his departure.

Despite the prospect of playing in the Europa League with the Saints this coming campaign, the French global has expressed his desire to leave after being quoted in the Daily Mail last month as saying he wants to join an English club who play in the Champions League. “And I don’t think is a problem for Manchester United”.

Blind was a top signing past year as he filled in a role which United were desperately weak in but with new and improved signings, will Blind have to settle for a squad role under Van Gaal next season or is there still going to be space for him in the starting XI?

Louis van Gaal is sure the deal will go through but wants to ensure that the formalities are dealt with before the Red Devils fly out to the United States to begin their pre-season tour, the newspaper claims.

The report added that if the deal comes to fruition, Koeman is hoping to have Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie as a replacement for the Frenchman.
