In news that will be music to Manchester United supporters’ ears, manager José Mourinho has confirmed that youngster Marcus Rashford will get a full opportunity to impress this coming week.

Pogba is yet to score since making his debut for the Red Devils against Southampton in August, but will be hoping to bounce back when they take a trip to Feyenoord in a Europa League game on Thursday, September 15.

“We had problems with poor performances”, Mourinho told reporters at Old Trafford on Saturday.

“I think that’s where he played for Juventus, either in a diamond, tucked in on the left, or in a 3-5-2 – like when he had Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio giving him that freedom, because defensively he is poor”. I know his future will be absolutely brilliant. “You need to be sharp the way you think and the way you play”. But his big personality is there.

But while Jose Mourinho typically found a way to blame the referee for United’s defeat, he also blasted his players for somewhat bottling it under the weight of expectation.

But he claims that Rashford exposed his more senior team-mates by refusing to be cowed by the occasion when he entered the fray.

“It was hard, especially in the second half, because they were much stronger physically and in the air but I think we coped well and we had the chances to get the third in the second half”.

It’ll be interesting to see if Rashford plays wide to accommodate Ibrahimovic, or if the big Swede gets a rest and vacates the no. 9 position. He coped with many situations.

“You never know the way players are going to react, especially when you don’t know them so well”.

“It’s really good, we defended the set-pieces [well] because they are stronger and taller than us and we defended really good”. “He was phenomenal in his attitude”.

Paul Pogba has been slammed for his display in the defeat to Man City.

“The performances are the deciding factor”.

“I have criticised Pogba for his performance, but he has great talent and abilities”, Carragher added.

“I think they [fans] have learned to live with that [the risk] already”, the England worldwide told United Kingdom newspapers.

“And it is not to punish them. I am happy that he is with us and he played well”.
