Mancini leads Endwell, New York, to Little League title game
Sunday will be a special day for several youngsters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, as the 2016 Little League World Series Championship will be played at iconic Howard J. Lamadie Stadium at 3:00 PM ET. Maine-Endwell Little League was named the 2016 Jack Losch Little League Baseball World Series Team Sportsmanship Award victor. After Mancini got his 11th strikeout one batter later, Rush opted to replace him with Abbadessa.

Will it be NY or South Korea that takes home all the glory from Williamsport on Sunday in the 2016 Little League World Series Championship?
From the start of summer practicing at Struble Field in Endwell, N.Y., to the final pitch Sunday afternoon at Williamsport, Pa., these boys beat all comers from Johnson City to Seoul. Sangheon Park’s walk put the tying runner in scoring position, but with chants of “U-S-A!”
Harlost’s powerful right arm kept South Korea’s lineup honest and his off-speed stuff often finished at-bats.
The Goodlettsville team fought back from elimination after losing early in the tournament to the same NY team they faced again Saturday. He sure didn’t show it.
Ryan Harlost threw a four-hitter as M-E topped global champion South Korea 2-1 on Sunday in the championship game of the Little League World Series before an announced attendance of 23,211 at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.
Others traveled hours, just for the love of the game.
This is the first Little League World Series championship for NY since Staten Island won it all in 1964.
“It was all of our last years in Little League, so it’s just awesome to know we all came together and we’re the best team in the world”, Conner Rush said. He also scored what ended up being the decisive run in the fourth inning.
“I don’t think I have had anyone clap for me before now I got a whole town clap for me because of my son and what this team did”. “So you never know what can happen with that pitch”.
For a while, it didn’t look like NY hitters would be able to hit anything.
South Korea’s Seum Kwon, left, scores as Panama catcher Leonardo Bernal takes the late throw to the plate during the first inning of the worldwide championship baseball game at the Little League World Series tournament in South Williamsport, Pa., Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016. He also scored in the fourth inning. Abbadessa broke up the righty’s no-hit bid with a single to center. Harlost followed with a liner to the same spot and Rush plated the go-ahead run with a hit that fell in behind the shortstop. A passed ball by catcher Wontae Cho brought him another run to give NY a 2-0 lead.
“It’s just been awesome”, Abbadessa said.
The team then went to Steuben Field where they were greeted by more fans.
Yoomin Lee homered in the fifth to give South Korea its run and close the gap to 2-1.
Hale said about the only time he could feel confident that a fastball was coming to one of his hitters was when Mancini had already thrown three curves in a row to the same batter.

President Obama also called the team to congratulate them on their US title win and wish them luck for Sunday’s final game. “I’m really proud of my team”.
