Mane wait but Reds could have key duo back

After a massive 4-3 away victory over Arsenal in the opening campaign of Premier League 2016-17, an upbeat Liverpool side are set to contest against newly promoted Burnley this Saturday. But Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Oviemuno Ejaria and Philippe Coutinho are back in full training and expected to be available for selection. They are very high-quality players, we know that tactical details change and we make the players aware of that. Liverpool made a winning start last Sunday, but now it’s time to see whether we’ll do our typical trick of losing to a weaker team. Emre Can was used there on occasion last season, while another past option – Jon Flanagan – will be at the game but in the Burnley camp, having joined Sean Dyche’s team on loan. In the game, you see him (Moreno) running (forward), but we had four players there.

“Intensity?” said Klopp. “I hope that we defend so smart that we won’t have to always run like devils”.

Striker Sadio Mane, who scored on his Premier League debut for the Reds last week, is a doubt after suffering a muscle injury in training.

A major loss for the Liverpool team is Sadio Mane, who picked up an injury in training. It’s how it is with all other positions – we would’ve found the flawless fit with all the things around, it’s not about money, only about playing style, defending skills, offensive skills and technical skills.

“And if we can do that I’m sure it will be a big opportunity for us to win things – that’s what I want to achieve with the team”. That’s the vast difference in the market.

“So one can get injured, and if another gets injured during a game, you still have an option”. It’d be a great shame if they leaked goals at the back when their forwards are doing so much going forward. We had four players there but we didn’t orientate, so we didn’t know who is where and who has which job to do. It’s another tough fixture for us but it’s a good challenge.

“I don’t think many teams will go to Burnley and take them apart because they are well organised and have a good manager, but Liverpool look unsafe in attack”, Merson told Sky Sports.

“I suppose that’s what comes with the Premier League and the money”.

Of course the odds have been influenced again by Liverpool’s blistering start against Arsenal and backers will be encouraged by the stats under Klopp (10 out of 16 away games have gone over 2.5 goals).

Klopp now enjoys time to make a “real analysis” instead of just focusing on how to “improve our physical ability” in the small amount of time between games last season. Liverpool, meanwhile, still have a lengthy injury list, with the latest addition being summer signing Mané: the former Southampton man is likely to miss out with a shoulder problem.
