Pacquiao, 36, is the only boxer ever to win world titles in eight different weight classes.

Pacquiao, who is also a congressman in his province in the Philippines, plans to run for a national senate seat in his native country after ending his career.

The 36-year old has a career record of 57-6-2 with 38 knockouts. The final bout is to take place on April 9, against a yet to be determined opponent.

Bob Arum is not to blame. And the more whimsically they behaved, the more revenue they generated till the order disintegrated in the spectacle of a network, HBO, despite having invested extraordinary resources in the promotion of two fighters, Mayweather and Pacquiao, being powerless to make them face one another. Arum has revealed that Pacquiao may consider fighting the 28-year-old American after a good performance against Dierry Jean in the HBO World Boxing Championship, where Crawford won via 10th round TKO.

There is much speculation over who Pacquiao’s next opponent will be, and the probables are Amir Khan, Terence Crawford, Kell Brook and Lucas Mathysse.

Juan Manuel Marquez’s name is also being tossed around, but Arum says it’s unlikely that will happen at this point.

The Fight to Save Boxing was not the beginning of disorder so much as its highest manifestation: A match no expert believed would please its consumers found the largest paying audience assembled in our sport’s history.

Pacquiao did win easily via unanimous decision in a 2014 rematch.

“Manny told me this would be his last fight and I’m not sad about it because he’s going on to a political career which will require a lot of mental acuity”.

Arum said Pacquiao’s fight probably will be in Las Vegas, potentially, he said, at the new Las Vegas Arena being built by MGM and AEG just off the famed Las Vegas Strip and due to open in April.

According to Arum, Pacquiao told him that the reason behind the move is to get as much momentum as possible for his senatorial campaign, with a long-term view of the Filippino Presidential elections.
