Manuel Pellegrini thinks Manchester City were unlucky to exit Champions League
Real Madrid, who have reached their 14th European Cup final, were held to a goalless draw against Manuel Pellegrini’s side in the first leg.

Visitors Manchester City’s Brazilian defensive midfielder Fernando scored an own goal in 20th minute of the match.
Real Madrid, now coached by Zinedine Zidane, and Atletico Madrid, led by Diego Simeone, will meet on May 28 in the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons. We didn’t deserve to lose.
“We tried to create but we couldn’t”.
“The goal gave them more time to play but both teams couldn’t create, and it was very similar to the first leg with both teams without many clear chances”.
The 25-year-old has been well below-par in the league this season but even at his peak last term he was unable to make the difference as the west Londoners crashed out to Paris Saint-Germain.
“I’m the coach of this team. It was very important for me to try to reach that final but we did what we could and now we must try to finish well”. We put in a good performance, we were very good at the back and tonight we’re going to enjoy the result.
He added: “I don’t think we can be bothered by criticism, it is what it is”.
City could be without captain Vincent Kompany for those final two games against Arsenal and Swansea after he suffered a groin injury early on at the Bernabeu.
And although Pellegrini admitted his side lacked creativity, he said Real were fortunate to progress to the final in Milan later this month.
Speaking to BT Sport Europe, Hart said: “We could easily have been in the final”.
Bale then saw a looping header come off the bar as, just as in the first leg, Madrid constantly caused City problems from set-pieces.
Having come so far, goalkeeper Hart is hungry for more and attention must quickly switch to the battle for a top-four place in the Barclays Premier League.

“They are there because they are a good team, but we’re looking forward to it now”. I feel like I am maturing. I really expected them to get on the front foot. I love football and when I see them doing what they do, I’m happy. We thank them because they have shown once again that they are an extra player for us.
