Manuel Pellegrini untroubled by Manchester City’s form on the road
“I am not a doctor but normally with a muscle injury less than three or four weeks is very hard, especially on the calf”.

With Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala yet to keep a clean sheet prior to Tuesday, some City fans may have feared the worst facing the league’s joint-highest scorers without their skipper.
“We did more than Leicester to win the game”.
But Pellegrini has backed his top scorer to come good. “I think that we have a system and it is very important when we play to get the amount of points needed to win the title”. We know, because we know him and after all this year he needs two or three games to return to his normal performance. “As always, I said that we are not going to close the window but we are not really thinking of any special players to bring in”.
Manuel Pellegrini has backed Manchester City star Sergio Aguero to shrug off his recent struggles in the second half of the season.
“I think we did more than Leicester to win the game”, Pellegrini told BT Sport.
Pellegrini’s side moved to within three points of leaders Arsenal with a point at Leicester while the home side went level on points with the Gunners at the season’s halfway point.
After seeing his side fail to win on the road in the Premier League for a sixth successive game, goalkeeper Joe Hart urged third-placed City to improve on their away results.
“I am not happy but not disappointed also because I think we played well but we couldn’t score”.
“Believe me, the next match is more hard, ” said Ranieri.
“I don’t think in December you can say who will be in the frame to win the title”.
In the nine Premier League games in which he has featured this term, City have kept seven clean sheets and not lost. But we have other options, other players who can play in this position.
“I wanted to see how my players responded after the Liverpool defeat and they responded well”.

“We knew it was not easy for them to beat Liverpool away so we were confident that we could reduce the gap at the top if we beat Sunderland”. I’d love this to continue but it’s not easy.
