Many voted for Brexit in protest, Blair says in LR talk

This was the second year for the awards ceremony; one that those in attendance will never forget, because after the last diploma was handed out, everyone, including Clinton, Bush, and Blair, was hustled to the basement of Central High School due to the severity of the storm.

The three former leaders were in Little Rock to attend a graduation ceremony for an educational program called Presidential Leadership Scholars.

“Don’t use the word ‘misunderestimate, ‘” Bush joked, to laughter and applause from the audience.

While the political far left and far right are distant from each other, the center left and the center right have much in common and should work to find practical, sensible solutions to problems and “stand up against the wall of noise”, he said.

More seriously, Bush said, “There’s things I could have done better”. I hope so. I hope I was smart enough to learn.

Clinton said growing inequality around the world is making it more hard for people to get along in countries both rich and poor.

“It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience”, Dalsing said. He said he had been asked on Thursday night whether he had ever seen a tornado in England. “We have to understand that that opposition to us hurt the white kids too”, Brown-Trickey said. By the time the storm had passed, at least one window on the school was broken, and pieces of metal roofing were strewn about the campus. On Thursday, July 14, there were 61 people in the second graduating class of the program.

It wasn’t known where Bush, Clinton and Blair were taken as sirens started sounding at a graduation ceremony at Central High School in Little Rock for the Presidential Leadership Scholars.

Blair will be on hand on Friday in Little Rock to speak and give a lecture at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.

Dalsing said he enjoyed the in-person presentations from former presidents and administration leadership about how they navigated issues such as financial crisis, terrorist attacks and overseas conflicts.
