“Marc Gasol ended his free agency today by re-signing with the Memphis Grizzlies after hammering out a new contract with team owner * a href=”http://www.memphisdailynews.com/Search/Search.aspx?redir=1&fn=Robert&ln=Pera” class=”learn” rel=”. All of them have been with Memphis.
Obviously we’ll be talking more about Marc Gasol over the summer, but it’s good that the waiting is (mostly officially, though he hasn’t actually signed anything and can’t until later in the week) over. He was selected as first-team All-NBA last season, second-team All-NBA in 2014, and he has twice been named an All-Star (2012, “15)”.
Gasol is the best center in the game right now.
Gasol was the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. He also chipped in 3.8 assists and 1.6 blocked shots per game.

The deal took place on Spanish time – with plenty of Sangria and tapas mixed into a leisurely, methodical pace – but there was never a doubt he was staying with the Grizzlies. He played for Akasvayu Girona from 2006 to 2008. The Spaniard averaged 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field.
