The prominence the presidential campaign calendar gives to Iowa and New Hampshire, each with a population smaller than the city of Los Angeles, has pluses and minuses.
Clinton asked New Hampshire voters to use their hearts and their heads when they vote Tuesday.
“Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified”, Trump wrote. Marco Rubio, who placed a close third.
Less than 48 hours after an Iowa caucus defeat, Donald Trump is calling for a do-over. According to the New York Times, a Democratic candidate needs 2,382 delegates to win the nomination. Rubio is trying to be the Republican establishment’s preferred alternative to Trump or Cruz.
Yet in the latest poll from UMass/7-News, Trump has a 24 point lead in the New Hampshire GOP race.
“Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he stole it”, Trump said as part of a Wednesday-morning tweet storm.
Cruz had apologised to Carson on Tuesday because of an email from his campaign before the caucuses, which are the crucial first vote in the U.S. presidential nominating process.
Trump took to Twitter to release a defiant message attempting to rationalize his poor showing.
But any humility was fleeting as Trump went on to say he beat Rubio by getting support from nearly 3,000 Iowans – “That’s a lot of people” – and that he had gotten a larger percentage of support than any other Republican candidate in history “except for that one number”, he added, referring to Cruz’s win.
“In retrospect, we could have done much better with the ground game”, Trump said, in an apparent slight to his Iowa state director Chuck Laudner.
Polls show well over half of Republican voters have yet to make up their minds.

“Nobody is going to believe that”, Limbaugh said, “especially when you offer that criticism sounding as though it could come with Bernie Sanders”. Mr Cruz’s team hit back by telling Mr Trump to seek help for addiction to the social media site.
