The general election race between Republican Marco Rubio and Democrat Patrick Murphy promises to be a nationally watched brawl that will attract millions in outside money and could well determine control of the Senate next year.

Rubio will face Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy and McCain is slated to face Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick in the November 8 election.
On the Democrat side, Murphy won handily in Polk with 56 percent of the vote, 15,339, while Grayson trailed with 24 percent, or 6,576.
Canova had raised about $3.3 million, an extraordinary amount for a primary challenger with no political experience. Marco Rubio for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat this fall.
Rubio, who decided at the last second to seek a second term, easily fended off millionaire homebuilder Carlos Beruff.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, right, speaks to workers at a campaign office for Rep.
In Florida, Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz won her primary a month after resigning as chair of the Democratic National Committee. Fear not. The WLRN team has summarized the key takeaways of this primary election for South Florida. Florida will eventually send at least eight new House members to Washington.
Murphy, right, visited the Tampa Bay area several times over the past few weeks in an effort to woo the area’s voters.
Many of those races have been marked by the familiar national dynamic pitting establishment-vs. -insurgents – but with local twists.
“Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism and Hillary Clinton supports sending them $100 billion”, RJC’s spokesman Fred Brown said.”Due to President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s policies, voters have seen the world fall into chaos, as well as the erosion of our close alliance with Israel”. He gigged Rubio for being unwilling to commit to serving out a full six-year term, if re-elected in November.
A similar dynamic is at play in the Jacksonville-area 4th District, being vacated by Crenshaw, where former county sheriff John Rutherford is tangling with Hans Tanzler III, an attorney, and Lake Ray, a state lawmaker, over who is most thoroughly conservative. Bill Nelson and former U.S. Sen.
And in the Orlando-area 9th District, Dena Grayson – wife of the incumbent – is battling her husband’s former chief of staff, Susannah Randolph, and state Sen. Marco Rubio’s last-minute decision to seek reelection after his failed bid for the White House didn’t eliminate all the Republican competition.
As Donald Trump’s polls numbers continue to slide, Murphy’s strategy has been to tie Rubio to the Republican presidential nominee.
Clinton maintains a small but consistent lead over the real estate mogul in Florida, which analysts say should keep Murphy within striking distance of the well-known and generally popular Rubio as Election Day approaches on November 8.
Even before his primary win, Murphy had been looking past his fight against Rep. Alan Grayson.

Rubio will square off against Rep. Patrick Murphy in his re-election bid. “The answer is he has a sense of entitlement, because when everything you’ve ever had in your life is given to you, you think you deserve it all”, Rubio said.
