Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush start to take the gloves off
Since becoming a senator, Rubio has sought to broaden his legislative portfolio by taking official fact-finding trips across the globe, including to Asia and the Middle East. And while he has chaired five hearings this year on a Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee, reports have shown that he missed 54 hearings on that subcommittee and full committee between 2011 and 2014.

“He’s still a friend”, Rubio said to Fox News Latino.
Trump is casting the senator as “Marco “amnesty” Rubio”, because of Rubio’s 2013 membership in the “Gang of Eight” in the Senate that favored an immigration bill that included a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. Bush’s numbers, however, declined sharply.
“For example, these were not assault rifles, these were handguns that he had purchased”, the Florida senator told TODAY’s Matt Lauer about the weapons used by the Oregon gunman.
“It was actually kind of weird, anyway”, Rubio said after the man had been escorted out of the room, eliciting nervous laughter from the crowd. It goes without saying that both men were trailing Trump, who led with 31.5%.
Dylan Byers, CNN’s Media Reporter, was asked, “Just yesterday, Rubio told CNBC he would be there for votes with major national significance or one that would make a difference”. The real estate mogul called Rubio “overly ambitious”, “too young” and “very disloyal” for running against his mentor Bush. Floridians are paying Rubio’s salary. And critically, when Bush was in a head-to-head with Trump among the state’s GOPers, Trump led by 55% to 38%.
“When Marco ran for the Senate in 2010, the entire establishment in Washington and Florida endorsed his opponent, and he won anyway”, said Alex Conant, a Rubio spokesman.
The candidate took the stage and railed against Washington’s corrupt culture and dysfunctional government, even though he was a sitting United States Senator.
He continued, “When I miss votes in Washington it is because I am running for president because I believe we can’t get this country moving in the right direction unless we have the right person in the White House”. She adds, “People don’t feel that Jeb is as enthusiastic and gung-ho on the stump as when he was governor”. “He’s smooth, articulate, and good-looking”.
The host, Jack Heath, asked Rubio how he would act differently than President Barack Obama when it comes to the increasing conflicts raging in Syria and Russia’s growing involvement. “The power brokers are behind him”, says MacManus.
A Republican operative with long experience in Florida politics has a different view.

Rubio’s team said its fundraising efforts were stunted in July by Scott Walker’s entrance into the race, and several other candidates who jumped in early in the summer. There’s a lot of pushing people to decide.
