Marco Rubio mocks media coverage of his high-heeled boots
Sen. Marco Rubio says he’s missed votes in the Senate, but Congress can’t change much, anyway.

“So let me get this right”, he said in Nashua, New Hampshire.
While here, the Florida Senator will hold a rally at the Westin Dallas Park Central hotel between 4:30-5:30 p.m., then attend a private fundraiser. Saudi Arabia and Iran are on the verge of war.
His campaign said his boots’ brand is Florshiem, where boots’ price range from $120 to $165 for a pair. Some would even call us cheapskates….
“If you’re an American who has committed the ultimate act of betrayal against our country, I will have no qualms about treating you like the enemy combatant you are”, he said.
Rand Paul used his Twitter account to take a stab at Rubio’s heels, while the Kentucky senator stood in a closet full of fabulous women’s footwear belonging to Whoopi Goldberg.
The controversy over the boots is not particularly surprising given Rubio’s establishment credentials and formative campaign infrastructure.
Vanity Fair suggested Rubio might be wearing a $1,990 pair of Tom Ford boots, but Rubio’s camp tells Politico they were purchased from Florsheim; this 5 pair looks awfully similar, per the New York Times.
New York Times reporter Michael Barbaro tweeted, “Marco Rubio is rocking some seriously fashionable black boots today in New Hampshire”. He trails billionaire Donald Trump who has 31 percent and Texas Senator Ted Cruz with 27 percent.
Since 1900, the taller guy has won the presidency 16 times, while the shorter candidate has won just eight times, including the year 2000 when George W. Bush won the electoral vote, but not the popular vote, to the taller Al Gore.

If Democrat Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, however, every candidate is taller than her, except Carly Fiorina. Although Cruz is polling well in Iowa, and at best, Rubio can hope for third place, many are anxious that he is seen as the only viable Republican candidate for the general election.
