Marcus Mariota might be out the rest of the year
The New England Patriots took care of business at Gillette Stadium Sunday afternoon with a 33-16 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Mularkey said Monday that Mariota will be re-evaluated after the Texans’ game with the rookie wanting to play the season finale at Indianapolis on January 3.
Mariota’s stats during the 12 starts during in his rookie season: 230-of-370 (62.2%) for 2,818 yards, with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Mularkey said Mariota’s injury is less serious than the sprained left knee that kept the quarterback out of two games earlier this season. Receiver Julian Edelman (foot) missed his fifth straight game despite returning to the practice field on a limited basis the last two weeks. Having injuries shorten his season to just 12 games won’t help his case, especially in such a stacked race.
Defensive lineman Alan Branch said the rest of the Patriots enjoyed watching Hicks struggle to corral the football. He is one touchdown and nearly 1,000 yards behind Jameis Winston, but has fewer interceptions.
There’s not much room for improvement in White’s game.
Brady highlighted penalties and protection breakdowns leading to throwaways as the reason for the stalled second half offense, but nothing was more important than the loss of wide receiver Danny Amendola right before the half- and the Patriots clearly wanted to end the game as quickly as possible. Tom Brady had two touchdown passes in the game and the Titans had just two sacks. And in the Patriots’ newly formed backfield by committee, which also includes Brandon Bolden and Joey Iosefa, White has emerged as a big-play threat in the passing game. The Patriots will finish the season with back-to-back road games to give the crews a chance to turn Gillette Stadium into an outdoor hockey rink. They played the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park in 2010. The quarterback said that his right knee was twisted during a sack by linebacker Jamie Collins. “That’s all I have to say”. That victory, combined with a 34-27 Denver Broncos loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers later in the day, means the Patriots have clinched a first-round bye for this season’s AFC playoffs.

The rookie quarterback was sacked to end the next drive, too.
