Marcus Mariota should sit out the remainder of the season
Since he was named interim head coach Mike Mularkey has changed the Tennessee Titans’ practice routine, blocking schemes, lineups and play-calling among other things.

The right knee of the Titans’ Marcus Mariota bends as he’s hit by the Patriots’ Jamie Collins on a sack that turned out to be Mariota’s last play of the game.
Mariota missed two games earlier this season with a sprained MCL in his left knee.
Mariota has started 12 games this season and is second among this year’s rookies in attempts (370), completions (230), passing yards (2,818) and touchdowns (19).
Brady is 33 of 46 for 319 yards with three touchdowns on the season while targeting White, who had seven catches for 71 yards and a score Sunday. Mularkey said the rookie wanted to return against the Patriots, but the Titans chose to be cautious and protect Mariota.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota will miss the Titans’ home finale Sunday with Houston with a sprained MCL in his right knee.
The Patriots spent Sunday dealing with more injury issues, but if nothing else, it looks like they’ll at least have an extra week to get a little healthier heading into the playoffs.
Defensive end Akiem Hicks recovered a fumble and scored New England’s first non-offensive touchdown of the season and Stephen Gostkowski kicked four field goals as the Patriots reached 12 wins for the 10th time (sixth straight year), tying them with the Denver Broncos for third on the NFL’s all-time 1ist. Following a 75-yard Keshawn Martin kickoff return, Brady and Co. struck back immediately, as James White took a screen pass 30 yards to the house for a 21-3 lead.
“He’s gained a lot of trust from everybody just based on his performance and his consistency”, said quarterback Tom Brady, who passed for 267 yards and two TDs.
The Patriots have won two in a row since stumbling to consecutive losses – their first two-game losing streak since 2012.
However, instead of taking the low road and forcing Mariota onto the field like some coaches did earlier this year for the Titans, he is wisely protecting the Titans rookie quarterback.
Johnny Manziel threw a 7-yard TD to Gary Barnidge on the first drive for the Browns (3-11). Chris Mortenson of ESPN is reporting that the number two overall pick is done for the season. And that Tennessee team finished with an 8-8 record.

“I’d say to be 12-2 is a good record”, Brady said.
