Mardi Gras 2016: Where to Party in El Paso

We take our Fat Tuesday food very seriously, and that means finding the most delicious recipes to celebrate.
What are paczki? Paczki (pronounced “poonch-key” or “punch-key”) are Polish-style doughnuts traditionally served just before, and on, Fat Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras), the last day before the Christian season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.
Lewis said he and Simpson were born and reared in Lafayette, and started attending Mardi Gras celebrations here in the 1950s.

We asked the crowd, What makes a good Mardi Gras costume?
One of the most exciting times to visit New Orleans is during the Mardis Gras season. Barbara Tate, from Maryland, said it was fun but a little chilly: “I was hoping it would be a bit warmer”.
There were bands and dance troups from around acadiana adding to the good time. The coconuts have been hollowed out, and the outside hair is removed; they’re then decorated with glitter or elaborate designs.

And just because these recipes are worthy of Fat Tuesday, doesn’t mean they’re all over-the-top.
