Margot Robbie lobbying for Harley Quinn spin-off
Especially if the next film goes for an R rating, as Suicide Squad probably should have in the first place. These criminals must unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own to get back his beloved Harley Quinn. We never get the parts that have the amusing one-liners, then the kick-arse action scenes, but then also an intricate character with an awesome story arc. I’m a big fan of Batman, but I’m a bigger fan of his rogues gallery – his collection of colorful recurring villains. The cast is solid, Margot Robbie kills it as Harley Quinn and it’s nice to see a comic book film where the heroes aren’t squeaky clean.

“Suicide Squad” is in cinemas everywhere now. It’s becoming clearer that there was a tremendous amount of dramatic antics behind the latest DC adaptation but that didn’t really get talked about until the week it was released. But that’s because Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – and Man of Steel before it – needed a course correction to fix its tonal issues.
Because of the action scenes it is worth it to pay to see it in theaters. But I don’t see why Waller would think she fits in with this glorified assault team. While Warner Bros. hasn’t revealed if an uncut edition will be released for the movie, the studio has instead unveiled other behind-the-scenes materials to keep its fans at bay. As a result, even with critical reviews less than enthusiastic about the film, the movie shattered the opening box office record for an August movie.
Academy Award victor Jared Leto (“Dallas Buyers Club”) does an admirable job as The Joker, but the storyline never fully unleashes The Joker into the bigger plot.

Having the Joker in Suicide Squad – played by an Oscar victor known for immersing himself in his roles – is part of the reason the movie had such a great opening weekend. Even though the character has been played on screen many times before, Leto’s rendition manages to stand out, not least because of his assortment of insane tattoos. We’ve got Harley Quinn, The Joker’s lover and complement, played by Margot Robbie, possibly my favorite actress of her generation. “Plus, the Joker/Harley relationship just seemed like the right button for the movie, it opens so many doors if another one of these were ever to turn up under a rock somewhere”.
