Cat Vasko has written the script based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Dean N. Jensen, which tells the life story of the attractive acrobat born in 1892 in Germany, who moved to the United States in 1910 and met Codona when she joined the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Robbie will take on the lead role of 20th-century trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel, in a story about her rise to fame whilst performing at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Andrew Lazar (American Sniper) will produce the period love drama Queen of the Air from a script by Cat Vasko (Grrl Scouts). The petite acrobat was well-known for her signature trick, which involved repeatedly dislocating one of her shoulders, and was so committed to the craft that her wrists had been permanently marked by the trapeze ropes.

Her lover had mastered a move that many others had died trying – the triple somersault.

Margot Robbie hasn’t had a great 2016 film-wise – Whiskey Tango Foxtrot was solid, but the same can’t be said for Warner Bros blockbusters The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad.

Until then, the Focus actress will shoot for Fox Searchlight’s Goodbye Christopher Robin, based on the story of AA Milne and his writing of Winnie The Pooh.
