Confirming the engagement, reps for Carey told Daily Mail Australia: “Yes, the couple were engaged tonight in NY”.
The Australian businessman was reported to have proposed to the star in NY after rounding up some of the star’s closest friends to witness the special moment.
These two lovebirds have been on a non-stop romance ride since they started dating last June, even spending the holidays together in Aspen with their respective kids. News: ‘It’s insane how ideal they are together, they both know it and couldn’t be happier’. Packer provided Carey with hardware fit for a queen, the diamond ring coming in at an impressive 35 carats.
The singer who is around 45 but whose date of birth is a matter of dispute, is best known for smash pop hits “Hero”, “We Belong Together” and “Someday”. She was more recently married for seven years to Nick Cannon, with whom she has 4-year-old twins Morocco and Monroe.
But there’s no date set yet for the happy couple, and it’s a busy year ahead.
Carey and Packer made their first red carpet appearance at “The Intern” premiere in September. They were photographed leaving the restaurant and Mariah was beaming as she flashed the lovely ring.
