Carey will receive her star in a ceremony that is set to take place on August 5, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Monday.

Eighteen number one hits, five Grammys, 20 American Music Awards and 42 Billboard Awards later and 200 hundred million records sold, Mariah Carey is finally getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ana also said in a statement: “Finally, all questions regarding when Mariah Carey will be honoured with a star are answered!” However, she only now able to do the ceremony due to her busy schedule.
Super excited & feeling so humbled about my star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She released her first album 25 years ago. “Now I’m absorbed in making my show, ‘#1 to Infinity’, the most fun for my fans as possible”. Fans have repeatedly asked us when their favourite singer would be honoured, and now is the time. She’ll continue the next leg in February 2016.

Reid; Lee Daniels, who directed Carey in her breakout role in “Precious”; and longtime collaborator Brett Ratner will fete Carey during the ceremony. She recently launched a residency in Las Vegas where she performs all her biggest singles, including We Belong Together, Hero and Visions of Love.
