To get us in the Mariah-fabulous mood for Carey’s upcoming E! show, “Mariah’s World,” the TV critics and journalists here at the Beverly Hilton hotel were treated to glasses of bubbly, followed by the spectacle of shirtless men ushering in Carey. “Is this a normal outfit for people to wear?” she asks in the trailer, posted up on a plush chaise lounge in a leotard and stilettos.

I’ve already written about Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down for Netflix, which not everyone will like (partly just because of Luhrmann’s stylish way of doing… you know, everything) and the upcoming Gilmore Girls reunion – who can be against that?

Kicking off her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour in the United Kingdom, viewers will see Mariah move through Europe and Africa, all whilst planning her real-life wedding. I was in misery, no really, I was at home crying’. “I just have to mutually figure out with [my ex-husband] Nick [Cannon] how much we really want them on the show”. “He’s cool about coming around the show”, she said, adding that she wasn’t sure if he would ultimately be in any episodes.

The trailer shows the songstress barking orders, being generally fabulous and insisting on wearing her sunglasses in certain lighting. It was the most abusive experience’.

When asked about her …Idol tenure, Carey was to the point.

We’ll all be in the orbit of Mariah’s World come December 4.

Moments later she references her infamous headline grabbing behaviour where she makes outrageous backstage demands, noting: ‘You know how they always make up stories about saying I want puppies and things delivered?

Mariah even proves she has a sense of humour as she puts on a thick NY accent to play a prank on the phone.

“They should have their own show because that’s how amusing they are!” the star exclaimed with a laugh.

Leave it to Mariah Carey to woo television critics with oiled-up hunks and Veuve Clicquot.

Carey, who is engaged to James Packer and who is very bad according to Demi Lovato, will anchor this eight-part special “event”, as it’s billed in the following preview.

Carey said her twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, 5, may also make appearances, but not too often.
