The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday (Jul 27) that Carey will get the 2,556th star on August 5.
She said: “I haven’t started writing my all new album yet”.

Guest speakers at the unveiling ceremony will include the 45-year-old star’s long-time collaborator, producer Antonio “LA” Reid, Precious director Lee Daniels, and her close friend, film-maker Brett Ratner.
Carey was actually selected in 2007 to receive a star but was unable to make the ceremony.
