Mariah Carey to voice for The Lego Batman Movie

It is said that Gotham Mayor is one of the few female voices in the film and so it would make sense that Carey is going to be cast for it. However, it may not exactly be a huge part as this role has always been minimal in previous Batman movies. However, news are now circulating around the internet world that she will be playing another character.

Deadline had eyebrows hitting the roof yesterday with the report that Mariah (a.k.a. Mimi a.k.a The Elusive Chanteuse) was in talks to play Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming Lego Movie spin-off.

Mariah Carey attends the 2015 Harper’s BAZAAR ICONS Event at The Plaza Hotel on September 16, 2015 in NY City. However, the Hollywood Reporter corrected on November 10 that Carey would voice the Mayor of Gotham instead, with no word on whether Jim Gordon or any other Gordons would be in the film. Again, the source clears the confusion emphasizing that the songwriter will not be Commissioner Gordon.

Mariah Carey has always been known for her singing prowess, whistle voice and 5 octave vocal range before her light shines through her acting. Batman will be played by Will Arnett, who returns from “The Lego Movie”.

Skilled writer Seth Grahame-Smith has also penned the script for the movie, having recently been announced as the screenwriter for the much-anticipated Beetlejuice 2. Producers for the movie include Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Dan Lin and Roy Lee.

The unexpected success of the “Lego Movie” has definitely left fans wanting for more.
