A Marine was found dead Monday morning at a Camp Pendleton shooting range, base officials said.

The name of the Marine, from the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, has not been released.
Camp Pendleton Federal Fire Department responded to the scene and said they could not determine how the Marine was shot.
The Marine’s identity is being withheld until 24 hours after his family has been notified.
McFadden said caring for the Marine’s family and unit friends is the “priority”.
‘We want to ensure these personnel are being provided for during this challenging time’.
A full investigation into these tragic circumstances is underway, and Marine Corps officials assure the public that no other soldiers were injured in the incident.
