AC Milan and Liverpool reportedly will pay half of Balotelli’s salary, and the loan deal doesn’t compel the Italian club to sign the striker outright at the end of the season.

Still Balotelli’s parent club as he will only move on a loan, Liverpool will not receive a loan fee and will continue to pay a quarter of his wages at Milan.

“I always had Milan in my heart and always had hope that I would return one day”, the 25-year-old said. “I will be happy if he goes to Milan”. “I don’t want to talk, though”.

As for the future, he added: “I have to start work from today and to have a good season”.

In contrast, the former Inter star was seen as a squad player at Anfield, and in many ways it was possible that the role could have suited him better.

But with his stock still relatively high in Italy following 26 goals in 43 Serie A appearances for Milan, his former employers have now agreed to hand Balotelli a career lifeline.

Rodgers knew exactly what he was doing when he signed Balotelli, and he clearly believed he could succeed where the likes of Mancini and Mourinho (both superior managers) failed.

Do Milan sacrifice one of their summer signings in the starting lineup to accommodate Balotelli?

Balotelli, 25, has spent the last few days at his family home in Brescia, with Liverpool leaving him out of their squad for Monday night’s 0-0 draw at Arsenal.

AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is reported to have met with the Italian striker in Florence on Saturday, ahead of the seven-times European champions’ first game of the season at Fiorentina.

Mario Balotelli has been a decisive issue among Liverpool fans but, many have accepted that the controversial striker will not be involved with this Liverpool team much longer. Let’s wait and see.
