Mario Balotelli offered to Napoli

Ajax have been linked with a move for Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli, who is looking for a new club this summer.

The Italian striker’s future at Anfield appears extremely bleak, with Jurgen Klopp having already publicly advised the player to move on before the close of the transfer window before leaving him out of the team’s pre-season plans in America.

That was until recently when Raiola held talks with Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, with talks concluding with the phrase “the city is special to the striker”, hardly the most convincing way to conclude negotiations.

However, respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Ajax and Napoli have both enquired about the 25-year-old, who has scored just two league goals in the last two seasons.

Turkish side Besiktas are also said to be interested despite their president denying any rumours earlier this month.

Balotelli also struggled to hit form back with AC Milan, but is now set to be offered another chance to move to Serie A.

It has been claimed that if Ajax qualify for the Champions League group stage, they might make a play to snap up the Liverpool striker.
