Mario Lopez on the Campaign Trail with Marco Rubio

The State newspaper first reported that Haley, the most coveted endorser for Republicans in the state, will appear with Rubio at a scheduled rally in Chapin, S.C. Ted Cruz in a tight battle for second place. “To all my Christian and Conservative friends in SC, I hereby formally endorse Ted Cruz for President of the United States”.

Rubio was forecast to compete for a top-three finish.

The GOP contender took a big step back in New Hampshire, finishing fifth, following a bruising debate performance just days before the Granite State’s primary.

The Rubio release cited allegedly underhanded tactics by the Cruz camp, such as spreading rumors that Ben Carson was dropping out of the GOP presidential contest on the night of the Iowa caucuses and a group’s push poll in SC that accuses Rubio of being for “amnesty” for unauthorized immigrants.

Gov. Nikki Haley said Tuesday that she has not made up her mind on endorsing 2016 GOP hopeful.

Haley says Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Cruz on Tuesday detailed his military platform inside the U.S.S. Yorktown, a World War II-era aircraft carrier.

“I’m not sure why legal decides we run something different”, Ingram said, declining to say who specifically had requested the ad be pulled. But after hearing the lobbyists scream wildly over every syllable that Marco uttered in SC, we can now safely “dispel with the fiction” that he is anything but an Establishment candidate.

The Indian-American governor is the first female and minority governor of SC, and was viewed as a natural fit for Rubio’s campaign.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, has endorsed Jeb Bush, while Utah’s four House members have all backed Rubio.

“It is striking that the election may come and go without an endorsement from the governor in the state that usually is the decider”, he said”. That puts him well behind leader Donald Trump (38 percent) and Ted Cruz (22 percent). That should happen sometime soon – possibly before SC votes on Saturday. Haley is considered to be a favourite vice presidential pick. Lisa Littleton, 52, a mother from Easley, said she had been torn between Rubio and Cruz, but now backs the Floridian in part because he avoided the “bickering” that marked the debate. In 2012, one of the reasons Newt Gingrich was able to upset Mitt Romney in the SC primary was the attack he leveled against Romney as being “pro-abortion” as governor of MA.
