Posting on Twitter, Hamill appeared to confirm he will be back as the veteran Jedi knight for Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is being directed by Looper’s Rian Johnson and is due in cinemas for May 2017.

Mark Hamill made fans happy the other day when he tweeted about his upcoming role in Star Wars VII, as well as mentioning his beard. Many have speculated that his absence from the trailer and the movie poster is either a well-planned marketing gimmick by Disney/Lucasfilms or his presence in the movie is very minimal to allot him some space in The Force Awakens trailer, which is one of the most viewed videos on YouTube.

Hamill’s tweet suggests that Luke survives events from The Force Awakens and will also be part of the film following it, although all Hamill really confirmed is that his character will have a beard for that film.

With less than a month to go until the long-awaited release of JJ Abrams’ take on the Star Wars franchise, the internet has been inundated with spoilers and speculation about the film’s plot.

Von Sydow’s character’s name is revealed to be Lor San Tekka, rumored to be a man who possess information vital in the quest to find the missing Luke Skywalker.

Maz Kanata, a CGI character played by Lupita Nyong’o, is some kind of mentor to Han Solo (Harrison Ford).

At the last minute Princess General Leia sends in X-Wing fighters to save the trio but not everyone gets out. Sadly, Rey and BB-8 are captured by Kylo Ren.
