University of Georgia sophomore tailback Nick Chubb suffered a significant left knee injury on the first play from scrimmage in Saturday’s Georgia-Tennessee game in Knoxville. Based exclusively off of his performance over the past 8 seasons, I honestly don’t even think Vanderbilt would hire him. Shortly thereafter, on fourth-and-8 from the Dawgs 39, Jones again went for it. This time, Josh Smith reached back to catch a Dobbs pass and knifed through the secondary for a touchdown. 13WMAZ’s Wes Blankenship asked Tony Barnhart about the state of Georgia football, and head coach Mark Richt.

The play calling had the right kind of aggression and intelligence needed to beat Georgia’s defense.
The Bulldogs’ final drive of the game started at their won 1-yard line after Tennessee punter Trevor Daniel booted the ball 56 yards down the field and the ball bounced out of bounds in front of the left pylon. The Vols even called an option run play inside the five yard-line instead of their typical read-option run game. Maybe so. While Georgia has (had) a lot of great pieces in place, the number of key players leaving the program after the 2014 season was simply going to be too much to overcome in just one season. Still, Lambert overall had a solid game, especially as the game went on. They should have been playing more all along.

Greyson Lambert was 15-for-32 for 279 yards and two touchdowns. He took us to 2 BCS bowls, won two SEC championships, had 10+ wins in 4 seasons, recruited well, etc. I could reel off stats and facts for hours that would prove he was one of the best coaches in football. Tennessee isn’t going to the College Football Playoff.
Sony Michel was hitting a brick wall going up the middle until we tried a screen pass for a first down, and that opened up a few holes for our OL and Michel up the middle.
Keepers of the “Fire Richt” banner point to the tremendous recruiting job that Richt does, followed by less than expected results.

This was the third-largest deficit the Vols (3-3, 1-2) have overcome in winning a game.
The other side is a man that may be considered a bit moderate, unfazed by problems on offense and a team that should be better than its play and record indicate.

Mitchell insisted he still believes in Georgia “because I’ve been around a long time and I know what a good team looks like”. Most likely no, but that isn’t the case anywhere.
