This news coming just two days after Richt announced that he would be stepping down from his position at Georgia following the Bulldogs (9-3) upcoming bowl game.

Miami is a pro market that demands excellence, but how hard can it be after what he went through at Georgia? He is a former Georgia receiver who has been on Richt’s staff since 2007, one year after his career as a Georgia receiver ended.
Any coach who spends 15 years at a major program like Georgia in a tough conference like the SEC must be doing something right. There has not been one negative thing to say about Coach Richt and I, for one, am very excited to get to meet him.
With 145 wins, Richt is proven and that makes him an anomaly for an incoming Miami coach.
Sources told ESPN that in the Monday news conference, Richt stated he wanted to coach again.

Miami had reached out not long after it fired Al Golden in October to gauge Richt’s interest in possibly returning to his alma mater. It is unknown if Scott will remain on the staff. “I miss that part of it”, he said.
Richt is considered a strong hire for a Hurricanes program that has largely floundered for more than a decade.
FSU won at least 10 games and finished in the top 5 of the final poll in each of Richt’s 11 seasons as a full-time assistant.
