Mark Sanchez to sign with Cowboys after being cut by Broncos
This season will mark the first time since 2012 that the Broncos will be starting their year off without Manning. There have been rumors swirling that Sanchez could end up getting cut by the Broncos (thereby relieving them of any need to send Philadelphia a draft pick for him).

Prescott is being pressed into service thanks to the back injury suffered by Tony Romo in preseason that could see him sidelined for as long as 10 weeks.
Mark Sanchez going to the Cowboys makes for another interesting move for Jerry Jones’ squad. The Broncos thought enough of Bibbs to keep him over Ronnie Hillman, who was the team’s leading rusher in 2015, and Juwan Thompson, who had been with the Broncos the previous two seasons at running back and fullback.
The Cowboys kept three quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster. The fourth-round pick has thrown for 454 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Even after the Broncos drafted Paxton Lynch in the first round, it appeared Sanchez would be the bridge at quarterback until Lynch was ready.
It is now rumored that Kaepernick lost his quarterback job when his team chose Blaine Gabbert as their starter.
Sanchez was 20-of-30 passing for 219 yards and one touchdown with one interception in two preseason appearances.
Sanchez, who played four seasons with the Jets, led the team to two AFC title games in his first two years. “We’ve got some great football players on this team, we’ll figure out ways to win football games if he’s not here, And that’s what we’re going to do”. Although Sanchez formally filled the No. 2 spot, the added reps and playing time afforded Lynch laid bare the Broncos’ preference.
The move on McFadden wasn’t a surprise because rookie Ezekiel Elliott, the fourth overall pick in the draft, is expected to start the September 11 opener against the New York Giants. Sanchez is expected to be Prescott’s backup while Romo is out.
Hillman was the Broncos’ leading rusher previous year but played sparingly in the Super Bowl and his lack of special teams play cost him.

Second-year quarterback Jameill Showers survived the initial round of cuts after a marginal showing in the preseason finale against Houston, but Sanchez’s arrival could change his status.
