Mark Wahlberg to star in Ballers

On Tuesday night’s The Tonight Show, Fallon took to Rockefeller Plaza with Mark Wahlberg, a pile of watermelons, and a giant slingshot. The actor responded by saying that the two of them actually thought up of a “great” movie idea.

Unlike Mark Wahlberg, who quit his day job of rapping in Calvin Klein underwear to become a Hollywood star, LeBron James is able to balance being one of the greatest National Basketball Association players ever with his acting career. “So these guys get to go to one of those fantasy camps, and me and LeBron have a situation”.

The film was announced three years ago with Kevin Hart enacting James’ brother. Hart is no longer part of the project. Earlier drafts were written by Hart with Chris Spencer, Harry Ratchford, and Joey Wells.

James has steadily increased his on-screen profile in recent years, co-starring in the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck in 2015, while he’s also set to appear in the upcoming Space Jam sequel, directed by Fast & Furious 6’s Justin Lin. Deepwater Horizon is scheduled to hit theaters on September 30.
