Mark Zuckerberg abashed by hack on Twitter, Pinterest accounts
Late on Sunday, a few of CEO Mark Zuckerberg‘s social media accounts were hijacked, with the hackers posting messages from the hacked accounts to show off their access to the accounts.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also had his LinkedIn and Pinterest accounts compromised, and the hackers claimed they obtained his password from the recently leaked LinkedIn password dump.
Facebook’s security systems are now created to thwart suspicious logins, but Zuckerberg’s account has not always been immune to breaches: In 2013, a blogger hacked the executive’s page to exploit what he said was a security flaw on the social network.
The hacker group also claimed to have gained access to Zuckerberg’s Instagram account, but there was no evidence to confirm these claims.
“We are just testing your security”, said one message posted by the hackers to the billionaire’s Twitter profile. Zuckerberg’s account has since been restored with the hacked Twitter post deleted.
There’s no evidence of any widespread damage stemming from the Zuckerberg account compromise-not least because Zuckerberg seemingly hasn’t tweeted since 2012.
However, it serves as an important reminder that hackers can target you if you are using an old password on multiple social media sites. Zuckerberg used a six charecter password which featured all of two unique charecters- “dadada”.
What’s more, Zuckerberg left himself vulnerable because he used the same password for various accounts.
The company says it is invalidating the passwords of the accounts impacted and contacting affected members to reset their passwords.
LinkedIn experienced a significant and embarrassing hack back in 2012, when millions of passwords were lifted alongside other information. The 117 million passwords collected from the attack were only released in May 2016, with LinkedIn issuing an urgent warning to its members to change their passwords as soon as possible.

OurMine have also claimed to have hacked other celebrity accounts, including the YouTube account of vlogger Markiplier.
