Thanks to Edward Snowden, we know that the USA government has sophisticated ways of spying on people through their gadgets. In April, FBI Director James Comey said he placed some tape on his laptop after he saw “somebody smarter” with a taped-up camera.
While celebrating Instagram’s latest milestone of 500 million monthly users, something seemed a bit off about Zuckerberg’s work space.
Now a picture, posted on Facebook, may prove why everyone should cover up those web cams.
Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg preaches open and free internet for everyone, focuses on making his company a 360-degree solution provider and even finds time to give back to society.
Twitter user Chris Olson recently pointed out that Facebook’s CEO covers his laptop camera and mic jack with tape-something only people afraid of getting hacked do. Absolutely. And he’s got cause.
Victims have included those preyed on by sextortionists.
There have been many cyber warnings about covering your webcam.
Eagle-eyed observers spotted that the webcam above the screen and the microphone to the left of the keyboard were covered with tape.

Hackers attack webcams via attachments containing malware. Whether you’re an illustrator, a sneakerhead or an astronaut on the International Space Station, every photo and video you share helps bring people closer to friends and interests, broadens perspectives and inspires a sense of wonder.
