Mark Zuckerberg Touts Virtual Reality at Rome Town Hall
In his meeting with the pope, Zuckerberg discussed how communications technology could alleviate poverty around the world, and the young billionaire gifted his holiness with a Facebook drone that aims to bring the internet to places that don’t have access.

As reported by Fast Company, Zuckerberg, for his part, made a post on the social media platform showing an image of him presenting the Pope with his gift.
In January this year, Zuckerberg revealed that he is thinking of a simple AI to run his home and workplace like the famous Jarvis character in the Hollywood movie “Iron Man”.
Continuing his dialogue with leaders in the world of social media and technology, Pope Francis met with Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
“We also mentioned the need for joining individuals, particularly in parts of the planet without access to the internet”.
He added: “It was a meeting we’ll never forget. You can feel his warmth and kindness, and how deeply he cares about helping people”, said Zuckerberg.
Throughout the past year, Zuckerberg has held a series of town halls with Facebook users in India, Germany, and Columbia, among other locations. Zuckerberg said he hopes to have a demo next month, and so far it can control the lights, gates and temperature in his house.
Taking questions from an audience at a university in Rome, Zuckerberg expressed his condolences following the deadly natural disaster that ravaged central Italy last week. After events like earthquakes, hurricanes, or bombings, people let friends and family know they’re OK with Facebook’s Safety Check feature.

It will be recalled that Facebook and Mr. Zuckerberg’s own philanthropy has increasingly focused its attention to the continent of Africa. I can control the temperature, much to the chagrin of my wife who now cannot control the temperature because it is programmed to only listen to my voice. “It turns out that one of those challenges was a lot easier than the other”, Zuckerberg said in a town hall event in Italy. It also showed Mr. Zuckerberg’s ability to think on his feet, which is expected from the CEO of one of the largest tech companies.
