Marko Grujic set for Liverpool switch announce Red Star Belgrade
Red Star Belgrade sporting director Zvezdan Terzic has confirmed that his side are selling highly-rated midfielder Marko Grujic to Liverpool, where he could wear Steven Gerrard’s old number.

Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic is set to arrive on Merseyside this week to undergo his medical after agreeing terms over a five-year contract ahead of his £5m move to Liverpool in January, according to the Liverpool Echo.
“The board considered the offer and accepted the proposal from Liverpool to pay the money immediately and the player to stay at Red Star until 1/07/2016”.
“We should not ignore the fact that this transfer was the largest for [Red Star] in the last 10 years, even though Marko Grujic is not [in the senior] national team and our club is not playing European matches”.
“There are far better deals than Liverpool’s, and clubs will wait until the summer”. Instead, he will be returning to Red Star for the remainder of the season.
“Bojan Djordjic, Milos Veljkovic, Adem Ljajic, Zoran Tosic, Lazar Markovic, Danilo Pantic… do you need me to continue to list them?”
FourFourTwo’s Charles Ducksbury explained in a recent report that Grujic’s sale has been sanctioned so Red Star can ease their debt crisis, with Liverpool only too happy to step in.

“The second is the story with (Branislav) Ivanovic and (Nemanja) Vidic”. Both the club and player made keeping him around as they push for a Serbian league title and Champions League qualification key to transfer negotiations, and without the loan-back agreement there would be no deal.
