The Miami Marlins suffered a blow to their drive for the playoffs when premier slugger Giancarlo Stanton landed on the disabled list with a groin injury.
That’s what they did Sunday. Stanton had singled to extend the game, but was thrown out at second base attempting to stretch it into a double. He finally limped off the field as the Chicago White Soxcelebrated an 8-7 victory over Miami on Saturday. “Where we are now, this team has played too well for too long and we’re going to do everything in our power to help it any way we can … whether it’s (Rodriguez) or anyone else”.
Adam Conley was also placed on the disabled list Monday, so the guys discuss what the best case scenario is for Miami’s rotation in Conley’s absence.
“He looked like he got shot”, manager Don Mattingly said. We miss Justin a little bit over there at first.
MIAMI (AP) – Catcher Dioner Navarro scored the go-ahead run on a strikeout, capping a weird eighth-inning comeback that helped the Chicago White Sox beat the Miami Marlins 8-7 on Saturday night.

Down 7-5, the White Sox scored once in the sixth inning on Eaton’s bases-loaded fielder’s choice. Going into a day game against the Red Sox Monday, the Indians have won five of their last six.
