Ichiro Suzuki became the 30th Major League Baseball player to collect 3,000 hits with a triple against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. The 42-year-old joined the 3,000-hit club in emphatic fashion, ripping a line drive off the right field wall against Rockies reliever Chris Rusin. The Marlins dugout emptied as teammates came out to congraulate the future Hall of Famer and Ichiro acknowledged the applauding crowd. He’s like, “Aw, no juice, no juice.’ I was like, “It was a great swing, man.'” At 42 years, 290 days, Ichiro is the second-oldest player to reach 3,000 hits”. Of the 30 men who have 3,000 hits in the Major Leagues, only Ichiro and Paul Molitor have reached that mark with a triple. “But later, I found out that Paul Molitor is the only other person to do it with a triple, and I have a close relationship with him”.

Ichiro recorded 1,278 hits with Orix Blue Wave in Japan from 1992-2000 before compiling another 2,533 with the Seattle Mariners (2001-12).
